Build a dynasty trade you can explain

Build a dynasty trade you can explain

A useful trade discussion starts with a common set of rules. Before comparing a superstar with a package of prospects and picks, make sure both managers are looking at the same league format. A number without its settings is easy to misread.

Start with the receiving packages

Dynasty Desk labels each column by what that team receives. Put the assets coming to you in Team A and the assets coming to your partner in Team B. The larger adjusted package is the side the model favors. This convention also makes a balancing suggestion easier to understand: the lighter receiving side needs additional value.

Open the Dynasty Trade Calculator, choose Superflex or 1QB, and match scoring, TE Premium and team count before adding players. Search accepts a player name, NFL team or position. The rookie-pick tab lets you add a year, round and Early/Mid/Late scenario. A named player cannot appear on both sides. Two generic mid firsts can represent two different teams' picks, but an imported owned pick keeps a unique identity.

Use the verdict as a scale, not a command

The percentage difference is the absolute adjusted gap divided by the larger package. Up to 5% is Even, up to 12% is Slight edge, up to 30% is Win, and a larger gap is labeled Fleece. Those names describe the model comparison; they do not prove that a league mate made a mistake.

For a reproducible example using the model dated November 5, 2026, start in 12-team Superflex, PPR, no TE premium, with pieces tax on. Put Josh Allen in Team A and Joe Burrow plus a 2027 Mid 2nd in Team B. The model references produce 10,000 adjusted points for A and 10,815 for B: a 7.5% edge for B. These are this site's experimental estimates, not current market quotes.

Test one useful change

Click a balance suggestion and re-read the actual result. Suggestions are tested against the existing packages, including pieces tax, and appear only when they shrink the absolute gap. A suggestion may cross from one slightly favored side to the other; the aim is a smaller difference, not a guarantee of a perfect tie.

Now switch the example to 1QB. The same assets produce different quarterback references, so the balance can change substantially. Keep your real format selected when negotiating. See Superflex versus 1QB for the scarcity explanation.

Check what the number leaves out

Ask who starts for each team after the trade, who must be cut, whether the offer suits a contender or a rebuilder, and whether an uncertain pick still looks appealing if it finishes late. The calculator does not automatically absorb injury news, coaching changes or transaction prices. Its methodology states the assumptions and the difference between editorial references and role/age estimates.

When the offer makes sense, choose Share trade. The link includes both packages and every calculator setting. Send it with a short explanation of roster fit. Do not include private information: anyone with the link can read its asset IDs and rules.
